Llyn Myngul, or Tal-y-Llyn lake sits at the foot of Cader Idris in South Snowdonia, Gwynedd.
A glacial lake, it strikes a stunning view for drivers as they cut through the mountain pass towards Machynlleth, as well as for pilots, who use the valley for low-level training in fast jets and propeller-driven aircraft.
I spent a glorious day on the eastern slopes of Cader Idris watching the jets fly alongside the mountain, and capturing the stunning scenery around me.
